Welcome to November, everyone! Brace yourselves for change because we are undergoing major transformations during this time and things are going by fast. This month is bringing us an opportunity to clear out the old to make way for what’s new, what’s more authentic, and what has been divinely orchestrated for us during this timeline. Like all astrological transits, we have the invitation to heal, refill our spiritual cups and make strides toward aligning with our highest selves. In this post, I will highlight this month’s major astrological transits. I am not covering all of the astrological transits occurring during this time, however, I will be covering the ones that I feel will be affecting us the most.
Scorpio Season:
October 22, 2022 - November 22, 2022
We are currently in the middle of Scorpio season which will last up until the 22nd of November. Scorpio is a fixed water sign ruled by the planets, Mars and Pluto. Scorpio represents a shift into the more internal signs of the zodiac spectrum, which correlate with colder weather and seasons of introspection and rest. Scorpio is the sign that represents the process of death and rebirth, destruction and transformation. Scorpios are not afraid of diving into the depths of its soul to bring about powerful transformations. Scorpios are known for alchemically transforming challenges into spiritual wisdom. Scorpios teach us the art of surrender and letting go in the efforts of being reborn anew.
Full Moon with a Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus:
November 8, 2022
During this month we will experience a full moon with a total lunar eclipse on November 8th, 2022 in the sign of Taurus. Eclipses are called the harbingers of change for their ability to set us on our correct paths and bring us back into alignment with our life’s true purpose. Eclipses allow us to finally make transformative changes that we have been avoiding. They allow us to make changes to things that have been brewing below the surface for a very long time. Full moons come at the end of a lunar cycle and represent change, release, and clearing of space for a new lunar cycle to begin again. Full moons call for us to become reflective of areas in our lives that need improvement and to be clear and honest with ourselves about what we specifically need to move forward.
The full moon total lunar eclipse in Taurus, a fixed earth sign, will propel us toward the future bringing up uncomfortable change while shaking up the very foundations that we’ve built our lives upon. Taurus, a venus ruled earth sign, teaches us the importance of stability and persistence. Tauruses are interested in development through the use of building and manifesting a solid foundation. The ability to grow and cultivate beautiful things with one’s resources and hard work describes this earth sign best. So this full moon total lunar eclipse will be a shift in our foundations and it will create opportunities for us to let go of old attachments, identities, and outdated ways of being and get in touch with our inherent resourcefulness and creativity.
Mars Retrograde:
October 30th , 2022 through January 12th, 2023
So I know we are typically used to hearing of the planet mercury being in retrograde, however, that isn’t the only planet that experiences a retrograde cycle. During this season we are also experiencing the planet Mars in a retrograde. But before we get into the details of what that means for us specifically let’s break down what a retrograde is first. From an astrological viewpoint when a planet is in retrograde the planet essentially appears to be moving in the opposite direction that it normally moves, and in this instance, that direction would mean the planets are moving backward in the sky. It is during this period of moving backward it does a collective calling in our lives of all the things in our “ past” that may still be holding us back and help bring it to the light in an effort for us to make adjustments and changes conducive to the growth and evolution of our spirits.
Mars is the planet that rules physical energy, forward momentum, and sex drive. It also rules our sense of anger and the way with which we showcase our anger. Mars also highlights the instinctive side of us that fights for survival and it highlights the energy with which we express our enthusiasm and how we apply our drive in the world. The energy surrounding the planet of mars can be both destructive and constructive depending on the level of maturity that we have reached within ourselves.
Mars will be retrograding in the sign of Gemini, which is ruled by the planet Mercury which is all about communication, communication with both ourselves and those that we encounter. During the mars retrograde, you can expect to find new creative ways to channel your energy, you can expect there to be a lot of misinformation or confusion in both personal and professional areas in your life. Anger, frustration, lack of motivation, and irritation are all themes of this retrograde so please navigate this time wisely. Remember things surface for us to take note of and assess if those things should occupy space in our foreseeable future. During this time I would recommend honing in on your grounding practices, practicing patience with yourself and others, and finding new creative ways of accomplishing things. If you have been feeling burnt out and unmotivated during this time it is perfectly normal, once you make note of where energy is and where you are delegating it. Sometimes we need to cut things out in order to apply that energy elsewhere...
Sagittarius Season:
November 22, 2022 - December 22, 2022
As we are exiting Scorpio season where we are a bit more introspective and shedding layers of ourselves that may no longer serve who we are on a grander scheme, we now enter Sagittarius season where the conquest is now outward instead of inward. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign ruled by the planet Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion. Sagittarius pushes us on the quest for wisdom through experience and adventure. Sagittarius teaches us how to transform the knowledge we acquire into wisdom that we can share with the masses to foster collective change. Backed by the planet Jupiter, Sagittarius teaches us that there are no limitations to what and who we can become and that the only limitations we have are ultimately the ones we place on ourselves. Sagittarius season is here to remind us of the beauty in starting over and that approaching change and new circumstances with optimism and the fiery energy of passion keeps our hearts and minds open to being expanded. Sagittarius season is a time to come back into alignment with our truth, with our most authentic selves.
New Moon In Sagittarius:
November 23, 2022
New moons mark the beginning of a new lunar cycle. The moon cycle spans over 30 days, thus gifting us with both a new moon and a full moon. New moons are a beautiful reminder of fresh starts and allow us to see that you truly can start over as long as you are committed to changing! With the moon representing “the mother” archetype, moon cycles call for a period of rest, reflection, and nurturing parts of ourselves to bring us back in harmony with whom we are truly meant to be. New moons are an opportunity to set new intentions for the month ahead to help align you on your path. Remember you co-create with God and the universe to bring forth the life that is meant for you but remember the universe responds best to clarity and intention is key!! This new moon in Sagittarius will be calling for us to renew our sense of adventure gifting us the opportunity to adopt a new way of approaching life’s journey. Coming out of the darker/ introspective season of Scorpio, this Sagittarius new moon is an invitation to plant new seeds with optimism. It reminds us to not stay boggled down by the pressures of life for too long, and that hope is in fact around the corner should we make the choice to see it that way. This is the time when we allow ourselves to leave the painful parts of our pasts behind to make way for a bigger, brighter, and more authentic future.
